As governments increasingly turn to automated decision-making systems, states must apply algorithmic transparency principles, standards, and rules in their use of algorithms. But is there a common definition of algorithmic transparency? Why is it fundamental in our time, in particular in contexts of use by public bodies? And are current existing instruments efficient in guaranteeing the level of transparency that is required?

Join us for a webinar where GPAI project Co-leads Juan David Gutiérrez Rodríguez – School of Government, Universidad de los Andes – Colombia and Alison Gillwald – Research ICT Africa will showcase their state-of-the-art research on the existing transparency instruments that can be used by governments to comply. They will also discuss crucial matters relating to algorithmic transparency practices with government representatives and non-profit organizations in their respective countries.
